Lei, una ex-starlett con poco successo, ambiziosa e ricca. Lui, suo figlio, artista con una venerazione eccessiva per la madre. La mostra, ospitata al WIELS – composta da circa 100 pezzi dell’artista Americano – propone un percorso nei progetti di Leigh Ledare. Tra video, installazioni e fotografia l’intera esposizione segue l’attenzione ossessiva di Ledare per la madre. Scatti privati della donna, intimità e tutto il fascino fetish della ex-ballerina.
Interessante il percorso voyeuristico di Ledare, che parte dall’ osservazione dell’intimità di una ricca donna con il consenso del marito, passando dalla necessità di farsi spiare in scatti privati dove lui è il protagonista ed infine, culmina in una lunga e attenta scoperta della vita della madre, tra abiti firmati, scatti pornografici e un pizzico di inquieto sguardo incestuoso. The exhibition, hosted at WIELS – consisting of about 100 pieces by the U.S. – offers a course in Leigh Ledare projects. Between video, installation and photography the entire exhibition follows the obsessive attention of Ledare to his mother. Private shots of women, intimacy and fetish charm of the former ballerina. Ledare interesting voyeuristic view starts from ‘observation of the intimacy of a wealthy woman with the consent of her husband, passing by the need to be spying on private shoots where he is the protagonist, and finally culminates in the discovery of a long and careful mother’s life, including clothes, pornographic shots and a little uneasy incestuous looks.
