Rovistando tra i vecchi DVD, in una delle tante serate in relax di recessione, sono incappato in una serie tv che, al di là della breve durata, rimane uno dei miei preferiti serial in assoluto: The Comeback.
Per aggiungere sullo scaffale qualcosa di deliziosamente unico in fatto di tv, non può mancare Lisa Kudrow e il suo pantomimico “Comeback”.
Nel 2005 Lisa Kudrow segnò il suo ritorno in tv, sul network HBO con “The Comeback”, una sit-com esilarante che ci guidava alla scoperta dei retroscena della vita dell’insicura Valerie Cherish, ex-attrice tv, che dopo tredici anni riesce ad ottenere un ruolo molto secondario in un nuovo show dal titolo “Room & Bored”.
Valerie, è costantemente seguita da una troup che la riprende, per il suo Reality dall’omonimo titolo “The Comeback”, mentre lei svolge le normali attività di un’ attrice dismessa in cerca di rinvigorita notorietà. Bistrattata dal regista, dallo sceneggiatore e perfino dal giovane cast dello show, lei, cerca costantemente di non perdere il controllo e superare le nubi nere con un’eccezionale, ma inadeguata, positività che la costringe ad intensi momenti di imbarazzo.
Juna (Malin Akerman), la protagonista e punta di diamante dello show nello show, ha una totale adorazione per la sua co-star e per questo, Valerie, cerca di mostrare alla nuova recluta di Hollywood come comportarsi ma ciò che otterrà saranno solo denigranti situazioni di disagio.
Stipata in un vecchio camerino e costretta a fare i conti con una carriera affondata, Valerie vuole avere indietro la sua credibilità di star-tv e, nonostante tutti sul set la odino – quasi – segretamente, lei continua ad appostarsi alle spalle di ognuno di loro per dispensare inutili e inascoltati consigli.
Lo show mostra uno spaccato di tragicomica realtà nella vita di una vecchia gloria non più indispensabile alla tv, mostrandoci tutto quello che avremmo sempre voluto sapere riguardo ai retroscena dei personaggi che più abbiamo amato ma che oggi faticano ad avere un posto fisso. Lisa Kudrow mostra, ancora una volta, tutta la sua abilità in questo ruolo intelligentemente comico di una entrante ma insicura attricetta tv. Esilarante e pungente, lo show, si è concluso dopo soli 13 episodi, disponibili in un cofanetto DVD. Dietro la macchina da presa Micheal Patrick King (Sex And The City), che ha scritto il pilot e ha prodotto la serie assieme a Lisa Kudrow e Dan Bucatinsky co-produttori esecutivi con la compagnia Is or Isn’t Entertainment.
English / Rummaging through the old DVDs, in one of the many relaxing evenings of recession, I stumbled upon a TV series that, beyond the short-term, it remains one of my favorite serial of all: The Comeback. To add something delightfully of TV-ish on the shelf, you can not miss Lisa Kudrow and his pantomime in “The Comeback”.
In 2005, Lisa Kudrow marked hher return to television with HBO “The Comeback,” a hilarious sitcom that led us into discovery the backstage of Valerie Cherish’ life, a former TV actress, who after thirteen years get a secondary role in a new show titled “Room & Bored.”
Valerie, is constantly followed by a film crew that takes over, with his Reality-titled “The Comeback”, as she performs the normal activities of an abandoned actress in search of revived fame. Mistreated by the director, screenwriter, and even by the young cast, she is constantly trying not to lose control and overcome the dark clouds with exceptional, but inadequate, positivity, which compels it to be intense moments of embarrassment. Juna (Malin Akerman), the protagonist and spearhead the show in the show, has a total adoration for his co-star and for this, Valerie, tries to show the new recruits how to behave in Hollywood, but that will be only denigrating uncomfortable situations.
Crammed into an old dressing room and forced to deal with a career sunk, Valerie wants to get back its credibility as tv-star, despite all the hate on the set – almost – secretly, she continues to lurk behind every one of them to dispense useless and unheeded advice. The show is a glimpse of tragicomic reality in the life of an old glory no longer indispensable to TV stardom, showing everything we ever wanted to know about the background of the characters that we loved more but now are struggling to get a permanent job. Lisa Kudrow shows, once again, all of her skills in this intelligent and comic role as insecure tv actress. Hilarious and poignant, the show ended after only 13 episodes, available in a DVD box set.
