Before leaving Saxony, we spend a few hours in the small town of Meissen. Known for being the city of porcelain.
The ancient village with a mountainous appearance is surrounded by a river, with a hill dominating its center with the famous Castle of Albrechtsburg and the Cathedral of Saints.
We stroll through the brick streets, with their small cafes and shops selling porcelain to reach the hill and visit the ancient fortress.

The gothic atmosphere makes us travel in time, between ancient walls overlooking green valleys and a constellation of sharp red roofs.
A fast and cheap train from Dresden and a few hours is enough to enjoy a pleasant stroll.
